The United Arab Emirates government has clarified the conditions under which foreign residents can sponsor their children for residency. These rules specify different age limits and requirements for sons and daughters.
Age Limits for Sponsorship
- Daughters: Foreign residents may sponsor their unmarried daughters without any age restrictions.
- Sons: Sponsorship generally ends when sons reach 18 years of age.
Exception for Sons in Education
Sons who turn 18 but are still enrolled in full-time education at recognized UAE institutions can continue to be sponsored by their fathers. Proof of ongoing enrollment must be submitted to the relevant authorities to maintain sponsorship.
