A shocking discovery was made in Inoorero Village, Kamunyaka, Gatundu North Constituency, Kiambu County, when a family found a decomposing body inside their water well.
Joseph Muriithi Kinyanjui, a family member, noticed something unusual while drawing water from the well. His bucket got stuck on a heavy object at the bottom. Using a torch, he saw what appeared to be a decomposing human body.
The family immediately alerted the police. Officers, alongside Kiambu County firefighters, arrived promptly and retrieved the body from the well. Authorities confirmed the deceased was a woman, though her identity remains unknown.
The body was taken to General Kago Mortuary in Thika, pending identification and further examination. Police have launched investigations to determine how the woman died and how her body ended up in the well.
A postmortem examination is expected to establish the cause of death as inquiries continue.
