Trump Denies Discussions with FIFA President on Stake Sale

US President Donald Trump denied having any conversations with FIFA President Gianni Infantino regarding the soccer governing body's plan to offer stakes to outside investors.

FIFA recently announced intentions to establish a $20 billion subsidiary to manage the World Cup and related events, proposing to sell up to 20% of the entity to external parties.

Despite the close relationship between Trump and Infantino following the 2026 World Cup hosted in the United States, Trump told reporters at Camp David that he had not engaged in talks about this investment plan.

Notably, the investment group expected to lead the stake purchase includes a vehicle founded by Joshua Kushner, brother to Jared Kushner, who is President Trump's son-in-law.
