Eunice Lefty, a woman from Thika, was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 23 and told she had only three months left to live. Contrary to medical expectations, Eunice has defied the odds and is still alive 12 years later.

Choosing to Fight

Upon receiving the grim prognosis, Eunice refused to accept it as her fate. In a heartfelt Facebook post, she shared how she consciously decided to resist the prediction and fight for her life.

"Those words could have easily become my reality, but I refused to let one medic's prediction dictate how my life would end," she said.

Support from Loved Ones

Eunice credits much of her survival to the unwavering support of her family and friends. She believes their collective determination to stand by her side was pivotal in her ongoing battle.

"If my loved ones had given up on me then, taken me home and accepted those words as my fate, maybe I wouldn’t be here today," Eunice reflected.

The Power of Mindset

Over the years, Eunice has learned that mindset plays a critical role in survival. Despite moments filled with fear and uncertainty, she held on to a small inner voice urging her not to give up.

"Sometimes, when everything around you is telling you to give up, you have to find that little voice inside you that says, 'Not yet. I still have a life to live,'" she explained.

A Testament to Human Will

While Eunice does not claim that positive thinking alone cured her, her story underscores that medical predictions are not always definitive. Her journey illustrates how the human will to survive can sometimes extend life beyond expectations.

From a prognosis of three months to live, Eunice has now surpassed 12 years, with each day serving as a testament to her resilience and the power of hope.
