Suspect Arrested, Cannabis Seized in Kitui and Homa Bay Narcotics Raids

Authorities have intensified efforts to combat narcotics trafficking with recent operations in Kitui and Homa Bay counties resulting in arrests and drug seizures.

Operations Target Narcotics Movement and Storage

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) revealed that coordinated raids focused on disrupting the transport and storage of illegal drugs within the two counties.

• In Kitui, officers intercepted a public service vehicle on the Machakos–Kitui Highway during a surprise security check at Mulutu. A search uncovered cannabis sativa concealed in a passenger's carrier bag. The individual was immediately arrested and taken into custody as investigations continue.
• Separately, in Homa Bay, police raided a rental house at Litare Beach, Rusinga, where they recovered cannabis hidden in nylon sacks. The occupant was absent and is currently being pursued by law enforcement.

Ongoing Crackdown to Disrupt Narcotics Networks

The DCI emphasized that these actions are part of broader efforts to dismantle narcotics supply chains operating along key transport routes nationwide. Officers remain committed to tracking down suspects and preventing drug distribution.
