President William Ruto has publicly criticized his predecessor, retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, accusing him of failing to deliver on key projects such as affordable housing, Universal Health Coverage, and education.
Speaking to residents in Uasin Gishu County, including Maili Nne, Huruma, and Eldoret City, Ruto challenged Kenyans to compare the achievements of his administration with those of the previous government.
He further alleged that Uhuru is sponsoring some of Ruto's political opponents, a claim that has been denied by the opposition, particularly the Linda Mwananchi movement led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, who stated that Uhuru's involvement is limited to encouraging youth leadership.
Call for Clear Policy Agendas
The President urged voters to demand detailed policy plans from political contenders rather than supporting them based on slogans or calls for his removal after one term in office.
"Every leader should be judged on their record. No one should expect support by merely demanding that I leave office without presenting clear policies and an alternative agenda," Ruto said.
He also reminded residents of Eldoret of their political experience and encouraged them to scrutinize the track records of all aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections.
