Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions set for Friday, August 14, 2026, affecting selected areas across five counties. The outages are part of routine maintenance aimed at improving the power infrastructure.

Affected Counties and Areas

  • Kisumu County: Riat area including Susan Owiyo, SOS Children’s Home, Kango Enterprises, Kanyakwar, Campus Industries Riat, Kabila Poultry Farm, and neighboring customers. (9am - 5pm)
  • Kakamega County: Matete and Nambilima areas covering Matete Market, Mbande, Butali Sugar Market, and adjacent customers. (9am - 5pm)
  • Migori County: Nyamuga and Nyarach areas including Ogengo, Ngodhe, Odienya, Opapo, Nyangau, Kudho, Ofwanga, and nearby customers. (9am - 5pm)
  • Meru County: Kinaa, KWS Office, Kiengu Market and surrounding locations such as Kawer, Kihutini, Kiptona, Rhino Camp, Kamiruru, and others. (8am - 5pm)
  • Mombasa County: Dolphine and Serene areas including Flamingo Pride Inn, Tembo Conference Centre, Kiluwa, Shanzu Teachers College, Pride Inn Serena, and adjacent customers. (9am - 5pm)

Kenya Power has advised customers in these areas to prepare for temporary power interruptions and to consult the advance notice portal for the latest updates on the maintenance schedule.
