Rajasthan Woman Becomes Civil Judge Seven Years into Marriage, Thanks to Father-in-Law's Support

Deepu Kanwar, a resident of Barmer district in Rajasthan, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming a civil judge after successfully clearing the Gujarat State Judicial Service examination. This accomplishment comes seven years after her marriage, during which she balanced family responsibilities with rigorous exam preparation.

Unlike many traditional households where daughters-in-law are expected to focus on domestic duties, Deepu's father-in-law played a crucial role in her journey. He consistently encouraged her to prioritise her education over household chores, creating a supportive environment for her studies.

Overcoming Setbacks

Deepu's path was marked by challenges. In 2022, she passed both the preliminary and main exams but fell short at the interview stage. The following year, she was unable to clear the main exam. Despite these setbacks, she remained determined, adjusting her study approach and continuing her preparation.

Her perseverance paid off when she successfully cleared all stages of the exam, securing the 79th rank and earning her place on the bench as a civil judge.

Balancing Family and Ambition

Even after becoming a mother, Deepu managed to maintain her focus on her judicial aspirations. The encouragement from her father-in-law to focus on education rather than household duties was instrumental in sustaining her motivation and enabling her to reach her goal.
