Key Details of the Amnesty
- The amnesty covers tax obligations up to December 31, 2025.
- Eligible taxpayers must pay the principal tax by December 31, 2026, to benefit from the waiver.
- Taxpayers with no outstanding principal tax but with late filing penalties can also benefit by submitting missing returns.
- Tax liabilities arising from January 1, 2026, onwards are excluded and subject to regular tax rules.
KRA Urges Early Compliance
KRA has urged taxpayers to take prompt action and not wait until the deadline. The authority encourages taxpayers to log into the iTax portal to apply for the amnesty and regularise their tax affairs.
“Don’t miss this opportunity to put your tax compliance status in order,” KRA stated, emphasizing the importance of early resolution of outstanding tax matters.
