Netanyahu Alleges Iranian Plot to Assassinate One of His Sons

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accused Iran of attempting to assassinate one of his sons, without providing specific details on the timing, location, or which son was targeted.

The claim surfaced during a phone interview with Channel 14, an Israeli outlet known for its supportive stance toward the government. Netanyahu described the plot as "unbelievable," emphasizing the seriousness of the threat.

This allegation comes as Netanyahu's coalition faces challenges in opinion polls ahead of Israel's general election scheduled for October. The heightened tensions follow a joint US-Israeli military strike on Tehran that resulted in the death of former Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several family members.

Security Concerns Amid Political Rivalry

Netanyahu responded to reports that Israel’s security agencies had refused to provide a security detail for Gadi Eisenkot, a former army chief and Netanyahu’s main contender in the upcoming election. He insisted that Eisenkot should receive continuous protection, warning that without it, Iranian operatives might succeed in targeting him.

Protective Measures for Netanyahu’s Family
