Ndindi Nyoro Urges Ruto Government to Stop Targeting Uhuru, Calls for President's Early Exit if Promises Unmet

Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has cautioned President William Ruto's government to cease attacks on retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, urging a return to governance focus.

Speaking on August 24 at the People's Party of Kenya headquarters while welcoming new party defectors, Nyoro criticized the administration for fixating on Uhuru rather than delivering on its electoral manifesto.

Defending Uhuru Kenyatta's Legacy

Nyoro emphasized that Uhuru was not involved in the promises made during the 2022 presidential campaign and warned that targeting the former president distracts from the government's responsibilities.

"Leave Uhuru Kenyatta alone! He is a man respected across the country," Nyoro stated.

Call for President Ruto to Step Down

In a direct challenge to President Ruto, Nyoro suggested that if the government has failed to fulfill its pledges, the president should consider stepping down before the 2027 elections.

"If you feel like you have failed to deliver on the promises you made, you do not have to wait until the 2027 elections. You can do Kenyans a favour by packing your bags and going home now," he said.

Nyoro's remarks mark a notable escalation in his criticism of the current government, reflecting his growing alignment with opposition forces ahead of the upcoming election cycle.
