Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced planned power outages affecting eight counties on Tuesday, August 25. These interruptions are part of scheduled maintenance and system upgrades designed to improve the electricity network's reliability.

Details of the Scheduled Outages

The power cuts will last up to nine hours in selected areas, with start times varying between 8am and 9am depending on the location. KPLC emphasized the necessity of these interruptions to facilitate maintenance work, connect new customers, and replace power lines during road construction.

  • Laikipia: Ibis Farm, Mia Moja, Kirimara, Magutu, Ngenia, Sirimon, GAW, Kithithina, Kwa Makara, Kwa Mumero, Graton (8am–5pm)
  • Marsabit: Entire Marsabit town including KBC, Karare, Marsabit Level V Hospital, Kituruni, Sasura (8am–4pm)
  • Mombasa: Dongokundu, Mbuta, Corner Mbaya, Bububu, Taifa Gas, Toa Freeport, Mwangala Primary School & Estate, Kiteje, DCC Office (9am–5pm)
  • Nairobi (Mowlem area): Part of Mowlem, KPLC Juja Control, KPCU (9am–5pm)
  • Nairobi West: Nairobi West, Msufu Road, Sumba Road, Naimei Road, ICC Church Mombasa Road, Paa Crescent, and surrounding areas including institutions like Stratmore University and Langata Technical College (9am–5pm)
  • Uasin Gishu: Neema School, Blossom, Oasis Bible College, Royalton, Nandi Gaa, Kimuri (8am–5pm)
  • West Pokot: Kacheliba, Alale, Konyao, Kachepkai, Serewo, Kitelakapel, Tapadany, Kodich, Chelopoy (9am–5pm)
  • Migori: Taranganya, Kobinto, Getotira, Masangora, Getonganya, Nyamotambe (8:30am–5pm)
  • Homa Bay: Waondo, Kitare, Pamela Mboya, Koyani Centre, Kayanja, Luanda Nyamasare (9am–5pm)
