A young man from Soitaran Village in Nakuru County, Gilbert Kigen, has successfully secured employment in Dubai through the Government of Kenya’s Kazi Majuu programme.
Kigen’s journey marks a significant milestone for unemployed youth in the region, illustrating the potential of government-backed labour export initiatives to create international job opportunities.
Support from Local Leadership
Local MP Joseph Ticha Tonui personally accompanied Kigen to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to bid him farewell. Tonui highlighted the achievement as a testament to the power of determination combined with access to the right opportunities.
“His success is a clear example of how skills and perseverance, when matched with available opportunities, can transform the lives of young people,” said Tonui.
Expanding Opportunities for Youth
Tonui revealed that more youth from Soitaran have completed their Kazi Majuu training and are expected to join Kigen in Dubai soon. He encouraged other unemployed young Kenyans to register for the programme and take advantage of the training and job placements it offers both locally and abroad.
“The opportunity is real. I urge all youth to prepare, believe, and pursue their dreams through this initiative,” Tonui added.
