Beatrice Njoki Mitaru, the nominated Kirinyaga County Assembly Member representing persons with disabilities, has been remembered fondly by colleagues following her recent death.
Kago Wanjiru, who worked closely with Njoki, shared an emotional account of their last interaction. In a Facebook tribute posted on August 24, 2026, Wanjiru revealed that Njoki called him just two weeks before her passing to check on his wellbeing and offer political guidance.
"She reached out with a welfare checkup call and provided me with valuable political advice on how to align my actions and conduct my political activities," Wanjiru wrote. He described Njoki's gesture as reflective of her caring nature and expressed his commitment to applying the lessons she imparted.
Dedicated Service in Kirinyaga County
Njoki served as a nominated MCA from Wamumu Ward and was recognized as the longest-serving nominated member representing persons with disabilities in Kirinyaga County. Her tenure was marked by dedication and consistent advocacy for her community.
