Kakamega Homeboyz FC team manager Boniface Imbenzi has expressed strong support for newly appointed head coach Edward Manoa as the club prepares for the upcoming Kenyan Premier League season.

Manoa, who took over about a month ago, has been actively involved in preseason preparations, including team recruitment and technical planning. He is assisted by Paul Okatwa, a familiar figure at Homeboyz who has previously worked with coaches Francis Baraza and Patrick Odhiambo.

"Edward Manoa has been leading the team since preseason began and is coordinating recruitment efforts alongside the technical bench," Imbenzi said. "We are hopeful that with his leadership, the team will improve on last season’s performance."

Last season, Kakamega Homeboyz finished sixth in the league with 49 points, recording 12 wins, 13 draws, and nine losses. Under Manoa’s guidance, the team recently played a friendly against AFC Leopards, losing 2-0 at Bukhungu Stadium, a result Imbenzi views as part of the team’s ongoing development.

With the transfer window closing on August 21, Imbenzi noted that the club is still open to making squad adjustments. "There is still time to strengthen the team or replace players as needed," he explained.

"Our goal by the end of the recruitment period is to have a solid squad ready to compete effectively in the new season," Imbenzi added.
