Labour Cabinet Secretary and Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) founder Alfred Mutua will lead a countrywide mobilisation tour as the party gears up for the 2027 General Election.
The party’s National Governing Council (NGC) recently announced plans to bolster grassroots structures and expand membership through this tour, which aims to engage supporters across Kenya.
Support for President Ruto’s Re-election
MCC has reaffirmed its commitment to backing President William Ruto’s bid for a second term while fielding candidates for other elective positions including Members of County Assembly (MCAs), Members of Parliament (MPs), Senators, Governors, and Woman Representatives.
“The Party will wholeheartedly support and campaign for President William Ruto in the 2027 Presidential Election,” the party stated, emphasizing that it will simultaneously present its own candidates in parliamentary and county-level contests.
Membership Drive and Party Rebuilding
The NGC resolved to immediately launch a nationwide membership recruitment campaign targeting new and former members. Those who previously left the party have been invited to return by September 15, 2026, to aid in rebuilding the party’s grassroots base.
Alongside the mobilisation efforts, MCC has adopted a new slogan, “Mbele Iko Sawa,” replacing the former “Inawezekana.” This will feature prominently in the party’s outreach activities moving forward.
Strategic Positioning Ahead of Elections
