Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has declared his readiness to contest for the presidency in the 2027 general election after concluding a 55-day opposition summit held in Wamunyoro.
The conclave, initially announced on June 9, aimed to establish a unified approach among opposition leaders for selecting a single presidential candidate. Gachagua emphasized that the meetings were designed to develop a framework to guide negotiations and cooperation within the opposition bloc ahead of the elections.
This political gathering reflects ongoing efforts within Kenya's opposition to consolidate their position and present a united front against the incumbent government in the upcoming polls.
