Two Young Children Drown in Trans Nzoia Water Pan
Two children under three drowned in a Trans Nzoia water pan while playing on a farm. Police retrieved the bodies and investigations are ongoing.

Two children aged three years and below tragically drowned in a shallow man-made water pan located in Furaha Village, Kwanza Sub-County, Trans Nzoia County. The incident took place on Thursday, August 20, 2026, as the children were playing with peers on a nearby farm.
After receiving reports, police officers along with local residents recovered the children’s bodies from the water pan. Crime Scene Investigation teams from Kitale processed the scene. The bodies, which showed no visible injuries, were then transported to Kitale County Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem examinations.
Authorities have launched investigations to establish the full circumstances of the drowning.
