Nicodemus Emus Lochok, originally from Turkana County, Kenya, has been filmed living homeless on the streets of Nashville, Tennessee. In a viral video, he appeals to Kenyans and well-wishers for help in returning home.
Nicodemus’s journey to the United States began after meeting Renee Jordan Emus during her church mission in Turkana. The couple married around 2019 and had two children. Renee reportedly assisted Nicodemus in obtaining a passport, enabling their relocation to the US.
For a period, their life appeared stable, with glimpses shared on social media. However, in 2022, Nicodemus announced the breakdown of their marriage, despite Renee funding counselling efforts to repair their relationship. Details surrounding their separation and Nicodemus’s subsequent homelessness remain unclear.
Following the viral spread of Nicodemus’s situation, Renee’s Facebook account was flooded with questions and accusations linking her to his plight. In response to the intense scrutiny, she has reportedly deactivated her Facebook profile, though no official reason has been provided.
Meanwhile, Nicodemus continues to seek assistance, hoping his message reaches someone who can aid his return to Kenya.
