Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kiminini have apprehended 18-year-old Ezekiel Nyongesa Barasa in connection with the death of an 84-year-old woman in Trans Nzoia County.
The victim, Florence Khosa, sustained severe injuries and was admitted to Cheranganyi Nursing Home, where she later succumbed to her wounds. Preliminary investigations suggest Barasa may have sexually assaulted Khosa before the attack.
Following Khosa's death, a manhunt was launched, leading to Barasa's arrest. Witnesses positively identified him during an identification parade. Forensic examinations are ongoing as authorities work to piece together the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Further inquiries have connected Barasa to a similar case involving the death of an 86-year-old woman in Tongaren, Bungoma County. Investigators are pursuing this lead alongside the Trans Nzoia case to establish a comprehensive understanding of the events.
