The Social Health Authority (SHA) has initiated the payment of verified pending healthcare claims from the defunct National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) valued at Ksh10 million and below.
In an announcement dated August 12, 2026, SHA confirmed that payments will be disbursed in four batches following a thorough claims verification and sign-off process.

The first batch of payments has already been processed, with a detailed list of beneficiary healthcare facilities published on the SHA website. This move aims to relieve providers who have long awaited settlement of outstanding claims accumulated under NHIF.
