Rigathi Gachagua Commits to Building Mausoleum for Late MP Johana Ng'eno
Gachagua pledges to construct a protective grave structure for late MP Johana Ng'eno and support his ailing brother after family's heartfelt plea.

Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua visited the family of the late Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng'eno on August 21, five months after the legislator's passing.
During the condolence visit to Ng'eno's home in Mogondo, Kericho County, Gachagua, accompanied by allies from the Mt Kenya region, laid wreaths and offered sympathies to the bereaved family.
Family's Appeal
Ng'eno's mother, Mary Temas, took the opportunity to appeal directly to Gachagua to erect a protective structure over her son's grave to shield it from weather damage. She also requested financial assistance for her only surviving son, who is currently hospitalized.
Temas expressed frustration over previous unsuccessful attempts to secure help from Ng'eno's associates, many of whom serve in President William Ruto's administration.
"I want this place to be built well so that the rains will not spoil it. I had requested those who were here before to build this grave but they did not. I also want you to help another son of mine who is in hospital," Temas said.
Gachagua's Response
Without hesitation, Gachagua committed to personally funding the construction of a mausoleum-like structure once a suitable design is prepared. He also pledged to assist Ng'eno's hospitalized brother.
"If we can find someone who will design the way our mother wants, I will personally take the responsibility of constructing the grave because the leader lying here was my friend," Gachagua stated.
He described Ng'eno as a close friend and framed the commitment as a tribute to both the late MP's legacy and his mother's wishes.
Background
Johana Ng'eno, the Emurua Dikirr MP representing Narok County, was known for his vocal and outspoken political stance. He tragically died in a helicopter crash in Nandi County on February 28, leaving a significant void in his constituency.
The family's appeal highlighted feelings of neglect by some former close allies, underscoring the importance of Gachagua's intervention.
