President William Ruto has extended his congratulations to Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema following his re-election in the August 13, 2026 general election.

In a message on behalf of the Kenyan government and people, Ruto described the election outcome as a strong mandate from Zambian voters.

Ruto Praises Hichilema's Leadership

Ruto characterised Hichilema's victory as a reflection of his dedication and commitment to Zambia's development. He noted that the result demonstrated the confidence Zambians have in their president's visionary leadership.

"Your resounding and decisive victory is a testament to your unwavering dedication, perseverance and commitment to the advancement of Zambia," Ruto stated.

Kenya-Zambia Relations

Beyond the congratulatory message, Ruto reaffirmed the importance Kenya places on its relationship with Zambia, describing the two countries as close allies with a history of cooperation.
