President William Ruto has made significant appointments to several government boards, effective August 21, 2026, as outlined in a recent gazette notice.
New Leadership at Railway Development Levy Fund
Lynette Njeru was appointed as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Railway Development Levy Fund Board (RDLF) for a three-year term. The board oversees the management of funds dedicated to railway infrastructure development across Kenya.
Reappointment at Kenya Medical Training College
Joseah Kiplangat Cheruiyot was reappointed as Chairperson of the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Board of Management for another three years. Cheruiyot expressed gratitude to the President and the Kenya Kwanza administration for their continued trust and pledged to work closely with the KMTC community to enhance medical training and workforce development.
New Chairperson for National Cybersecurity Agency
Dr Martin Koyabe was named the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the National Cybersecurity Agency, also for a three-year term. His leadership is expected to steer the agency’s efforts in strengthening Kenya’s cybersecurity framework.
These appointments come ahead of the 2027 General Election, with public officers intending to vie for elective positions required to resign by February 10, 2027, as stipulated by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
