Police in Kampala are investigating the death of 22-year-old TikTok creator Jovia Namuwulya, whose body was found in her rented Bukoto residence on August 20, 2026.

Namuwulya, known online as Jovia1235, was discovered lying in a pool of blood inside a locked room after her family raised alarms when she stopped answering calls. The caretaker and Namuwulya's sister found the locked room and observed blood stains through the window before gaining entry.

According to police spokesperson Racheal Kawala, Namuwulya had rented the room for about seven months, while her roommate, Rose Turundamukama, had moved in roughly three months earlier. Turundamukama is currently untraceable and has been declared a person of interest in the case.

Speculations and Police Appeal

Social media has been rife with unverified theories, including claims involving a man named Muhammad, who allegedly met the women through the Tinder app. It is suggested that a dispute over stolen money led to a fatal confrontation. However, authorities have not confirmed the existence of this individual or any related details.

Police have urged anyone with information that could assist in identifying and apprehending the suspect to come forward at the nearest police station.
