The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has launched an SMS notification system to keep vehicle owners informed about their transfer applications.
This initiative comes after numerous complaints from motorists frustrated by prolonged delays and lack of clear updates on vehicle ownership transfers.
Key details of the new system include:
- All transfer service updates will be sent directly to applicants’ registered mobile phones via SMS.
- Motorists are advised to ensure their linked phone numbers are active to receive timely notifications.
- The SMS alerts will indicate whether a transfer is pending, accepted, or rejected, helping applicants avoid constant portal checks or office visits.
NTSA had previously digitized the vehicle transfer process, promising a turnaround time of just one day. However, delays lasting weeks or even months were reported, with some applicants unaware of rejected transfers due to insufficient communication.
The new SMS notification system aims to enhance transparency and allow vehicle owners to monitor their application status conveniently.
