Nigerian gospel artist Neon Adejo has been thrust into the spotlight following accusations by celebrity photographer David Martins, who released private WhatsApp conversations suggesting an inappropriate relationship between Neon and his wife, Alicia Daniella.

The screenshots posted on August 23 include exchanges where Neon requested a selfie from Alicia and sent her 150,000 naira. The allegations sparked widespread discussion due to Neon's prominence in gospel music circles.

Neon Adejo's Response

Addressing the claims on Instagram, Neon categorically denied any romantic involvement with Alicia. He explained his interactions were motivated by concern for Alicia's wellbeing amid personal struggles.

Neon recounted noticing Alicia's distress in 2025 and reaching out to both her and David. He detailed providing support such as covering hospital bills for Alicia's son, Noah, paying for groceries, booking a safe Airbnb accommodation at Lekki Phase 1 costing KSh 25,000 per night, and arranging for a hairstyling service.

Regarding the selfie request, Neon clarified it was to check on Alicia's appearance after the hair appointment he had arranged through a friend.

Allegations of Domestic Abuse

Neon also revealed Alicia had accused David of domestic violence. He stated that witnessing evidence of this abuse compelled him to assist Alicia. Neon condemned violence against women and called for accountability.

He emphasized that he kept his wife informed throughout and consulted his pastor before making his side public. Neon reflected on the experience as a difficult lesson about intervening in others' personal matters, despite their hardships.
