The Nairobi Hospital recently held its 2026 Children's Charity Heart Fund Golf Tournament at Karen Country Club, uniting golfers, corporate sponsors, philanthropists, and the public to raise funds for children suffering from heart diseases.
This annual event targets children diagnosed with congenital and acquired heart conditions whose families lack the resources for specialised cardiac treatment. Over the years, the fund has enabled more than 400 children to receive free, life-saving heart surgeries.
Supporting Critical Cardiac Care
Hospital CEO Felix Osano highlighted that many children arrive for treatment after families have exhausted all financial options. "This tournament exists to close that gap," he said, emphasizing that all proceeds directly cover theatre time, diagnostics, and specialist cardiac care.
The fundraiser also strengthens partnerships among healthcare providers, corporate entities, and donors to expand access to paediatric cardiac services.
Hospital Leadership Commends Initiative
Dr Barcley Onyambu, Chairman of the Kenya Hospital Association Board of Management, praised the fund as a key measure of the hospital's commitment to accessible healthcare. "A hospital is measured by how it treats those least able to pay," he stated, thanking sponsors and partners for their ongoing dedication.
