Initially, Risper and her mother faced heartbreak when a local fundraiser they organised failed to attract attendees, leaving the venue empty. This painful moment was captured on video, showing Risper tearfully pleading for help and expressing her fear of dying young.
Following the viral spread of her story on social media, thousands of Kenyans responded generously, raising over KSh 1.2 million within hours. This amount brings Risper closer to the funds needed to travel to India for specialised cancer treatment.
In a heartfelt video, Risper expressed her gratitude, saying, "Honestly, I had given up on treatment, but you people showed me so much love I don't even have the right words to say it." The overwhelming support has reignited her hope and determination to fight the disease.
