A Kenyan man living in Atlanta, United States, has found himself homeless and sleeping in parking lots following a series of personal and legal challenges.
The man relocated to the US with his wife, hoping to build a better life. However, their marriage deteriorated soon after arrival, leading to his eviction from their shared four-bedroom home.
According to digital creator Karanja Dan KD, who encountered the man while he was being confronted by Walmart security guards, the situation has worsened due to the man's ongoing leg injury sustained before leaving Kenya. This injury limits his mobility and ability to maintain employment.
"He has tried several jobs, including delivery work, but his injury prevents him from working long hours, causing him to lose jobs repeatedly," Karanja explained.
The man’s wife reportedly filed charges against him, resulting in his arrest and imprisonment. After release, he was unable to secure stable housing and now relies on public spaces for shelter.
Community Appeal
Karanja has provided some help but urges the Kenyan community in Atlanta to step in with support before the man's condition deteriorates further.
"We need to find a solution before we lose him and then start contributing towards his funeral or repatriation," Karanja pleaded.
The man’s situation highlights the challenges faced by immigrants dealing with family breakdowns, legal issues, and health problems far from home.
