Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions across six counties on Thursday, August 13, 2026. The outages are intended to facilitate maintenance, network upgrades, connection of new customers, and replacement of aging infrastructure.

Affected Counties and Areas

  • Migori County: Kokuro, Siruti, Obama, Nyatambe, Ondome, Gamba Secondary, Kanyasiega, Nyamasaria and nearby locations from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Murang’a County: Kirere, Kaimiri, Muthithi, Karuri, Mutunguru, Kangondu, Kiriangoro, Migwini, Ngamburi, Gikomora, Muthithi Market, Njora and adjacent areas from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Meru County: Kaaga, Kithoka, Nkoune, Mwiriene Primary, Meru Teachers College, Mwithumwilu Secondary, Kaaga Girls High, Mpakone Village, LR Petrol Station, Gatimene Gardens, Runogone, KEMU University, Tuliza FM, Gakurine, Kiandiu, Chungu, Kwiriro Market, Kaithe Market, Fred's Academy, Thiiri Cultural Centre, Bishop Lawi Imathiu Primary and Secondary, and surrounding areas from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Kiambu County: Kanunga, Kiamara Estate, Valentine Growers, Kashphat, Kanunga High, Ngegu, Turitu, parts of Limuru Town including Karanjee, Rironi, Ngenia, Mutarakwa, Stephjoy, Nderu, Thigo, Rosmali, Ndioni, Kireri, Nguirubi, and adjacent customers from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Kilifi County: Kayuni, Gede, Kasufini, Malindi Handcraft, Mshongoleni, Mkao Moto, Paguo, Kwa Abudu, Kasufini and surrounding areas from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Mombasa County: Parts of Likoni including Pentagon, Mrima, Kwa Water, Bilal, Mwananzia, Nyumba ya Meli, Mwananguvuze, Jaara Office, Gambani, Tonge Nyama, Kwanziwe, parts of Maweni and Barabara ya Mchanga from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Residents and businesses in these areas are advised to prepare accordingly for the power outages to minimize disruption during the scheduled maintenance activities.
