Karangu Muraya, gospel singer and philanthropist, has publicly thanked Kenyans for their support following the burial of his brother, Joshua Kagema Muraya, a well-known Kikuyu actor and content creator popularly known as 'Wa Cecelia.'
Joshua Kagema passed away on August 3, 2026, after a brief illness that saw his health deteriorate rapidly. He was laid to rest on August 11 at the family home in Murang'a County.

On August 12, Karangu took to Facebook to express the family's heartfelt gratitude to everyone who stood by them during this difficult time. He acknowledged the financial, physical, emotional, and moral support received, including prayers and guidance from clergy members.
"You walked with us through one of the most painful seasons of our lives, and we will never take your kindness and support for granted. May God bless you abundantly and reward you for every sacrifice you made for our family," Karangu wrote on behalf of the Muraya family.
