The Office of former President Uhuru Kenyatta has dismissed a viral statement alleging that Uhuru Kenyatta repeatedly rejected meeting requests from former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
The statement, which circulated online and bore the Office of the Fourth President's branding, claimed several intermediaries had sought a meeting between the two leaders, which Uhuru allegedly declined after careful consideration.
Kanze Dena, spokesperson for Uhuru Kenyatta, categorically labeled the statement as fake during a press briefing at the Fourth President's Nairobi office.
The fake statement read in part: “It is confirmed that such requests have been received, on more than one occasion, through various intermediaries. It is equally confirmed that H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta has considered these requests carefully and has declined them.”
Kanze Dena’s clarification serves to dispel misinformation and maintain transparency regarding the relationship between the two political figures.
