Gatundu South Member of Parliament Gabriel Kagombe has announced plans to publish a series of 400 videos, each detailing what he describes as President William Ruto’s unfulfilled campaign promises.
Speaking on a local radio station on August 13, 2026, Kagombe accused the President of misleading Kenyans during his political campaigns. He stated, "There are videos I can show you of how William Ruto lied to Kenyans. Ruto has 400 videos, and I will unveil a series where every morning I will be releasing a video after the other."
This extensive series, if released daily without interruption, would span over a year, focusing on the gap between the President’s pledges and their delivery.
Political Realignment Ahead of 2027 Polls
In the same interview, Kagombe distanced himself from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), the party under which he was elected in 2022. He confirmed he will not seek re-election on a UDA ticket but did not specify which party he will join going forward.
He remarked, "I know the person I will not vote for is President William Ruto. I don’t know which political party I will use, but I know I cannot defend my seat via UDA."
This move reflects broader shifts within the Mt Kenya region, where several leaders are reconsidering their political affiliations ahead of the 2027 general election. Kagombe has been linked to the Democracy for Citizens Party, although he has yet to confirm any affiliation.
His planned video series is likely to serve both as a political critique and a platform to explain his departure from UDA.
