Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has promised to inform the mother of the late Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ng’eno about what he believes caused her son’s death. This announcement came during his tour of Emurua Dikirr Constituency, where he met with residents and a visiting Wiper Party delegation.

Gachagua stated that he will share his insights with Ng’eno’s mother before holding political rallies scheduled for August 21, 2026. He challenged anyone opposing him, including President William Ruto’s camp, to confront him, emphasizing his readiness to face any disruptions.

Questions Surrounding Ng’eno’s Death

Johanna Ng’eno died in a plane crash on February 28, 2026, near Mosop while traveling from West Pokot to an empowerment event. Gachagua has repeatedly raised doubts about the circumstances of the crash, suggesting it was a deliberate act targeting the outspoken MP rather than an accident.

Political Developments in Emurua Dikirr

During his visit, Gachagua also thanked residents who supported the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) candidate in the recent by-election. Although the DCP candidate came second with over 10,000 votes behind United Democratic Alliance’s David Keter, Gachagua viewed the outcome as a sign of growing support within this President Ruto stronghold.

He asserted that the DCP is becoming the preferred party among the Kipsigis community and declared plans to field candidates for all elective seats in the region during the 2027 general elections.

Commitment to Community Issues

In addition to political ambitions, Gachagua pledged to assist the Kipsigis community in resolving the longstanding Angata Barikoi land dispute, which has previously caused violence and fatalities. He revealed that a legal team of 10 lawyers from his camp has been assigned to support the community’s efforts.

Gachagua’s visit attracted over 2,000 Kipsigis residents to his home in Wamunyoro, where he promised to address various challenges facing the community. He reiterated his determination to engage directly with Emurua Dikirr residents despite anticipated opposition from rival political groups.
