Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale is grieving the loss of his wife, Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale, who collapsed and died from a heart attack on the morning of Saturday, August 15, 2026.
Khalwale confirmed the tragic news through a statement on his social media platforms, describing Gloria as the mother of their eight children: Engine Kukaste, Olivia Sabayi, Flavia Shimuli, Gift Atubukha, Meliza Khamwenyi, Velma Nasiebanda, Sonia Inuni, and Maura Makatse Khalwale.
Second Wife Lost in Similar Manner
This heartbreaking incident echoes a previous loss for Khalwale. His first wife, Adelaide Shikanga, also died suddenly after collapsing on a Saturday morning in October 2019 at their home in Ikolomani sub-county.
At the time, Khalwale recounted how Shikanga was found unconscious in the bathroom by a house help. Despite his efforts to resuscitate her, she passed away. Adelaide had been battling cervical and blood cancer for years and had recently developed pulmonary hypertension.
