Denmark's immigration authorities have released an official sanction list naming 17 foreign religious preachers who are prohibited from entering the country for a period of two years. The bans are grounded on concerns related to public order.

Details of the Ban

The list, accessible on the Danish immigration website, includes each individual's full name, date of birth, nationality, country of residence, and the ban's start date. Photographs accompany the entries to enhance identification.

Nationalities and Duration

The banned individuals hail from 10 countries: Zimbabwe, the United States, the United Kingdom, Türkiye, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt, Syria, and Jordan. Türkiye accounts for the largest group, with six nationals included.

Each entry ban lasts two years, with the earliest bans commencing in November 2024 and the latest issued in August 2026.

Notable Names on the List

  • Mohamad Rateb Abdalah Al-Nabulsi (Syria/Jordan) – Ban effective from April 2025
  • Alparslan Kuytul (Türkiye) – Ban effective from August 2025
  • Khalifah At-Thahabi (Frankie Lipscomb) (USA) – Ban effective from March 2026
  • Ismail Menk (Zimbabwe) – Ban effective from October 2025
  • Haitham Al-Haddad (United Kingdom) – Ban effective from March 2026

Context and Related Policies

This move aligns with Denmark's broader approach to maintaining public order. Separately, Denmark has identified certain groups eligible to apply for citizenship without prior permanent residency, including Nordic citizens and people of Danish descent, which may impact foreign nationals with Danish ties.
