Controversial Act Sparks Debate
In August 2025, Jiang posted a video that sparked widespread controversy. Armed with a hammer, she destroyed a clay statue of Guanyin, a prominent Buddhist figure revered as the Goddess of Mercy. The stunt was intended as a challenge to superstition, with Jiang daring fate by saying, "Let's see how long I can live." The video quickly went viral, drawing both admiration for her boldness and harsh criticism for perceived disrespect.
Fatal Accident and Aftermath
Nearly a year later, on July 15, 2026, Jiang was involved in a serious car accident as a passenger. She suffered severe brain trauma, extensive blood loss, organ damage, and clotting complications. Hospitalized at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital in Guangzhou, she remained in a coma on life support for almost a month before passing away on August 10, 2026, according to officials from her home village in Hunan province.
