Champions League 2026/2027 League Phase Draw Set for August 27 in Monaco

UEFA is set to hold the draw for the 2026/2027 Champions League league phase on Thursday, August 27, at 20:00 East Africa Time in Monaco. This event will determine the fixtures for 36 qualified clubs competing in the group stage.

Draw Procedure and Team Allocation

The clubs are sorted into four pots based on UEFA's club coefficient rankings. The draw begins with pot one, which includes some of Europe's top football giants such as Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Inter Milan, Manchester City, Arsenal, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid.

Each team will face eight opponents in the league phase, playing one home and one away match against two clubs from each of the other three pots. This means every club will participate in a total of eight fixtures before advancing to the knockout rounds.

Fixture Restrictions

• No team can be drawn against another club from the same country during the league phase. For instance, Arsenal and Manchester City cannot face each other at this stage.
• A club cannot play against more than two teams from any single foreign nation across its eight matches.

UEFA’s automated software continues generating valid fixture combinations, ensuring all restrictions are met and the full league schedule is balanced.
