All Seven Victims Recovered from Mt Ololokwe Helicopter Crash
Rescue teams have recovered all seven bodies from the helicopter crash near Mt Ololokwe in Samburu County. Investigations into the cause are ongoing.
All seven victims of the helicopter crash near Mount Ololokwe in Samburu County have been recovered, authorities confirmed on Thursday.
A coordinated effort involving police, Kenya Red Cross, and the Loisaba Conservancy successfully retrieved the last three bodies, following the initial recovery of four victims shortly after the crash on August 19, 2026.
The crash site, located at Shabashi Hills near Mount Ololokwe, revealed severely burnt remains, with only limited identifiable parts found among the wreckage. Samburu County Commander David Nkoroi stated that forensic samples have been collected for further examination.
"All the remaining bodies have been recovered. Samples have been taken for forensic examination," Commander Nkoroi said. The crash scene has since been handed over to investigators as efforts continue to determine the cause of the accident.
The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority alongside the Air Accident Investigation Department have launched inquiries into the incident.

- Stephany Hollihan – Wife of Michele Sensi-Contugi
- José Alberto Suárez – President and General Manager of Telemundo stations in Florida
- Roger Duarte – Miami-based food entrepreneur
- Henry Parra – Aviation software executive
- Adam Hlavaty – Co-founder of Mrkt Group, a real estate and design firm
The remains were transported to Nanyuki before being moved to Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi for forensic analysis and DNA identification. Plans are underway to repatriate the victims to their home countries once identification is complete.
